Putting mothers and children first
AMREF has recently launched a new project to reduce maternal, newborn and child mortality in marginalised areas of Kenya, Southern Sudan and Tanzania. Deaths from pregnancy and birth complications remain high, yet tragically, 70 - 80% of these deaths are avoidable.
AMREF, supported by the European Commission, is training community health workers to scale up ante and post natal care for mothers and newborns. Find out more
