AMREF supporter receives prestigious award

AMREF supporter Adele Powell recently received the prestigious Vice Chancellor's Civic Award from the University of Oxford.

Adele has been the student representative on the Wolfson College AMREF Group for the past two years, and this award recognises her tireless efforts raising money and awareness for AMREF and other organisations.

Staff and students at Wolfson College have been supporting AMREF's work for over 30 years, and this year they have raised more than ever before!

Adele is a fantastic fundraiser, with really innovative ideas. For example, she asked people to sponsor her to audition for The X Factor, despite freely admitting to not being a singer. This raised an amazing £313 for AMREF!

We would like to congratulate Adele on receiving this award, and thank her and Wolfson College for their incredible fundraising for AMREF.

If you have a great idea to raise money for AMREF, or would like to set up a supporter group in your area, please get in touch with Lucy on lucy@amrefuk.org or 0207 269 6865.
