Thank you for taking the time to find out more about AMREF. We need people just like you to take an interest in our work, and help us bring lasting health change to Africa. Whether you want to run a marathon, trek in Africa, organise a local coffee morning or volunteer, get in touch and help us to make a difference.
At AMREF, we believe health is a human right. Our work focuses not only on fighting killer diseases, but also on training health workers in order to strengthen the health system and bring lasting health change to Africa.
It is an outrage that millions of people in Africa don't have access to basic health care and are dying from easily preventable diseases. You can help us address this injustice.
There are many ways to get involved and support our work:
- You can run for Africa
- You can organise an event to raise awareness about our work
- You can join a supporter group or even start your own
AMREF’s partnership with Wolfson College in Oxford began over 20 years ago, and the commitment and enthusiasm from the college’s students and staff has grown year-on-year. In fact, the college raised £6,500 in the last academic year - the largest amount donated by the college in a single year. In total over £80,000 has been donated by Wolfson College towards AMREF’s work in Africa.
We'd like to introduce some of the wonderful people who go the extra mile to support AMREF - from riding bikes to selling plants to walking a marathon, they raise money and awareness at the same time!
Looking for an inspiring and credible speaker for your event? A member of our UK or African teams are often available to give a first-hand account of AMREF's work and to discuss African health issues.
Get more involved in our work by joining an AMREF supporter group in your local area.
Donating your time is a great way to support us, gain experience and to have fun.
